Early life and background

Shrenu Parikh was born on 11 November 1989 in Vadodara, Gujarat. Raised in a Gujarati middle-class family, she completed her schooling at Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya and went on to earn a B. Pharma degree from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Her mother, Smita Parikh, worked in banking; her father was an engineer. She has a brother named Shubham Parikh.

Parikh grew up with an early interest in performance. As a student she won a Miss University title in 2007 and finished as second runner-up in the Miss Vadodara contest in 2008. She also took part in Indian Idol season 3 in 2004 but left the competition to focus on her board exams. Outside of work she enjoys singing, travelling, and spending time with children in need. She is also known to be affectionate toward dogs.

Shrenu Parikh began her television career with the series Zindagi Ka Har Rang…Gulaal in 2010 and rose to wider recognition for portraying Aastha Shlok Agnihotri in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?… Ek Baar Phir. That role established her as a familiar face on Indian television and led to additional work across serials and reality shows.

Her TV credits include the series Ishqbaaaz, for which she received the Indian Telly Award for Best Bahu (Popular) in 2017, and Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampanna, in which she played Janhvi Mittal in 2019. Parikh has also participated in Nach Baliye 9 as a contestant.
