It is a pity that due to the ongoing trade war between the US and China, Huawei’s products have effectively been banned from being sold stateside. The company makes excellent phones and wearables, like smartwatches. But for our readers who can get their hands on Huawei products, you might be interested to learn that the company has scheduled an event for February 26, 2026.
Huawei teases event for February 2026
In a post on X, the official Huawei Mobile account has announced that the company is hosting an event in Madrid, Spain, on February 26, 2026. The caption just says, “Innovative Product Launch,” which is somewhat vague. However, many are speculating that this could be a launch for a new Huawei wearable.
This is because the post on X uses the “#NowIsYourRun” hashtag. This has led some to believe that we could be looking at a new smartwatch. This is great news for those who love Huawei’s smartwatches. It has been many years since we last saw a Huawei smartwatch. It was back in 2021 that the company released the Huawei Watch GT Runner, so it is about time that we see a refresh.
Unfortunately, we have zero idea of what to expect from a sequel. However, the company did announce a partnership with the DSM-Firmenich Running Team and star marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge last month. Either way, it looks like we’ll have to wait until the end of the month for the details.
What else could it be, if not a smartwatch?
Right now, Huawei’s teaser is most likely going to be a smartwatch. However, the company reportedly has several other products in the pipeline. A recent rumor claimed that Huawei could have new smartphones in the works, one of which could adopt the use of a square selfie camera sensor.
Then, there are the rumors of a new Huawei Kirin 8030 chipset, which will power the company’s mid-range series of Nova phones. Like we said, more than likely the event will be about a new smartwatch. We would be surprised if we got other announcements, but we’ll have to wait and see.
