YouTube Music helps me enjoy music more than Spotify ever did.
Just describe your idea, mood, or genre and AI will do the rest
The feature is rolling out to the YouTube Music app on both iOS and Android.
To begin, select the New button in the bottom right corner of the Library page. You’ll then select AI Playlist. Along with typing what type of music you’d like in the playlist, you can also use your voice to describe what you’re looking for.
While Spotify and Apple Music are the most popular and widely talked about music streaming services, you shouldn’t overlook YouTube Music. There are a number of reasons why YouTube Music is a great streaming service. YouTube Music is also a great choice for anyone interested in listening to background music while working.
You can subscribe to YouTube Music for $10.99 monthly or $16.99 per month for up to a six-person household. The feature is also available to YouTube Premium subscribers, which will set you back $13.99 monthly while also removing all ads from YouTube videos, which is a huge plus.
Spotify subscribers can tap two similar features
If you’re a Spotify subscriber, you don’t have to worry about missing out on AI-powered playlists. The streaming rival actually has two different playlist features for you to try out.
The simpler Spotify AI playlist feature is very similar to YouTube Music’s new option. Just describe what you’re in the mood for, and the streaming app will take care of the rest, creating a perfect playlist to match what you typed. Like with most AI-powered tools, the more specific you can be, the better the results.
Another more powerful AI tool is the Promoted Playlist. It can interact with the Spotify algorithm, giving you more control over the music you want to listen to.
It’s not hard to find AI-powered technology these days. But music streaming services like YouTube Music and Spotify are actually putting AI to good use, helping us make it easier to listen to the music we like and enjoy.
