All-in-one desktop PCs are not incredibly popular outside of Apple’s iMac lineup, but there are still people who don’t want a separate desktop box. Lenovo just announced a new one at CES 2026 with a twist: it has a nearly square display.
One of Lenovo’s many product announcements this week is the ThinkCentre X AIO Aura Edition, powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra X7 Series 3 processor with 64GB RAM and Intel Arc 12Xe graphics. It also has four Harman Kardon-certified speakers, “up to” Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, a Thunderbolt port, three USB Type-A ports, two USB Type-C ports, HDMI 2.1 for connecting another screen, and a headphone/microphone combo jack.
The most unique feature here is the 27.6-inch display, with a 16:18 aspect ratio that is almost a square. That’s much taller than the 16:9, 16:10, or 3:2 aspect ratios that are common on computer monitors. Lenovo says it’s “ideal for creators, programmers, and data professionals who benefit from seeing two A4 pages or full data sets in an easy-to-view portrait display.” It’s an IPS LCD panel with a maximum 60Hz refresh rate.
Not every workflow would benefit from ultra-tall displays, but it could be useful for spreadsheets with more rows than columns, designing or scanning paper documents, or some graphic design. This could also be an alternative to dual-monitor or ultrawide setups in desk spaces with limited horizontal space, if you use the top half as a secondary screen.
There’s no built-in webcam, but there is an “optional AI camera” designed to sit on top of the screen. The monitor’s extra height probably means anyone else in your video calls will see the top of your head rather than your face, unless you happen to be a giraffe, or attach it to the side and rotate your camera in software. The camera does support Lenovo DeskView, though, so you can scan documents by pointing the camera at them.
Lenovo also said in its announcement, “Driven by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, it delivers efficient performance across a range of professional workflows. With Lenovo Share Zone, the AIO becomes both a computer and monitor at the same time, dividing the screen into two to display AIO content in one section and content from a connected external device in the other.”
The ThinkCentre X AIO Aura Edition will be available starting in March 2026, and it should be available from Lenovo’s online store and other retailers. Final pricing has not been announced.
