It’s hard to argue that bathrooms are the worst-smelling rooms in your home. The pleasant surprise of realizing we had the smart home fragrance diffuser in our home was a real emotional switch. This is because I’ve had to deal with my own stench in the past, and everyone knows their own work smells differently to them than it does to others.
So this means I no longer have to reach for matches to light a candle after bathroom trips, as I previously did. The Pura is timed, so it goes off on a schedule. But I can also go on the Pura app and have it dispense a bit of fragrance after a bathroom trip. The device is easy to use, as you plug it in and connect it to your Wi-Fi.
This lets you set schedules and sync up with your home. You can choose different smart features in the app, as you can adjust the schedule and add timers. You can choose how long it sprays the fragrance for and how intense you want the scent to be.
You’re able to customize how often you’re dispensing this and how much is coming out, giving you the flexibility to try and cover up some bathroom smells or just add some nice scents into the air. We bought a few Pura diffusers and have them in our bathrooms as well as in the living room and family room, two rooms where people frequently spend time. This ensures that they all smell good.

The only candles that my wife has allowed to be in our bathrooms are Threshold with Studio McGee candles with the scent of Santal & Ginger. It has been her favorite ever since we found a candle at Target years ago, and she has stuck with them for years.
Since she is currently pregnant and any off-the-beaten-path smell is immediately more pungent to her, sticking with the one she likes makes a lot of sense. Pura has a collaboration with Threshold that brings their candle scents to the diffuser. We purchased a bunch of the vials and have been able to enjoy them throughout the house for a while.
The Pura diffuser goes through vials in 30 days if it is diffusing scents for six to eight hours a day. This is at medium intensity in a smaller room, like a bathroom. For larger rooms, like if you use one in the kitchen to get rid of weird food smells, the vials can finish earlier than that. We usually turn down the intensity a bit more in the larger rooms to make them last longer. You can sign up for subscriptions through Pura, and they can come in four, eight, and 12-week intervals, keeping you fully stocked and never without your favorite fragrances.
Also, we aren’t looking to have the rooms smell perfumed. We don’t want the scent to be overpowering, unless you’re trying to cover up something that’s happened in the bathroom or if, say, the fridge is leaking some gross smells.
We can all understand what I mean by “bathroom trips.” There’s no need to get further into it than that.
