Matt Murdock is back with a vengeance. The blind lawyer turned masked vigilante returns in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, premiering tonight at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Disney+.
Unlike last season, which premiered two episodes, season 2 will only air one episode. However, Disney+ will now air the second and third episodes next week on March 31.
Fans have been clamoring for season 2, as it continues the battle between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk, also known as the villainous Kingpin. Fisk is now the mayor of New York City, and in season 2, his goal is to eliminate Daredevil with the help of his Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF).
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their roles as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, respectively. Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, and Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter/Bullseye also star.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 marks the return of Jessica Jones as Krysten Ritter. Similar to Cox, Ritter starred as Jessica Jones when Netflix released Marvel TV shows. Ritter played the former superhero turned detective for three seasons on Jessica Jones and one season on The Defenders. Now, Ritter gets to bring her beloved character with superhuman strength into the MCU.
Other notable debuts set for this season include Matthew Lillard as Mr. Charles and Lili Taylor as Governor Marge McCaffrey.
After the two episodes on March 31, Daredevil: Born Again will return to its weekly release schedule, with the season finale set for May 5. Season 3 is currently in production.
Where is the Punisher?
Frank Castle returns in his own special
One character noticeably absent from Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is Frank Castle, a vigilante better known as the Punisher. After playing the character in Netflix’s Daredevil and The Punisher, Jon Bernthal returned as Frank Castle in the inaugural season of Daredevil: Born Again.
Bernthal’s Punisher has been sidelined for the show’s sophomore season, but it’s for good reason. The merciless vigilante will now headline A Marvel Television Special Presentation: The Punisher: One Last Kill. Reinaldo Marcus Green directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Bernthal.
The Daredevil: Born Again season 2 finale is set for May 5, which is earlier than expected. Now, we know why, as The Punisher: One Last Kill will air the following week on May 12 on Disney+. Could this mean Frank Castle shows up in the season 2 finale before the special airs? It’s certainly possible.
Bernthal is also set to star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in theaters on July 31, 2026.
