AAP Minister Atishi Faces Police Notice Amid Poaching Allegations

Date:

Delhi Police officers visited the residence of Atishi, a minister in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, today to serve a notice. This follows allegations by AAP that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attempted to “poach” seven of its MLAs.

Atishi was not present at the time, but her office staff received the notice, according to AAP sources. “The team will go again to serve notice to Atishi. This morning, she was not present at her residence,” said a senior Delhi Police Crime Branch official.

This action comes after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was served a similar notice yesterday. He is required to respond within three days regarding his claims of the BJP’s poaching attempt.

Both Kejriwal and Atishi maintain that the BJP offered ₹25 crore and election tickets to each of the seven targeted AAP MLAs in an attempt to destabilize the government. The BJP has vehemently denied these accusations, calling them “false” and “baseless,” and challenging Kejriwal to provide proof.

This escalating situation presents a brewing political battle in Delhi, with both parties trading accusations and facing police inquiries. It remains to be seen how this unfolding drama will impact the political landscape of the capital city.
