Hima Shankar was born on 2 June 1987 in Kodakara, a town in Thrissur district of Kerala. Raised in Kodakara, she completed her schooling at St Don Bosco Girls High School, Kodakara, and later attended Rajarshi Memorial Higher Secondary School in Aloor. Her higher education includes study at the University of Calicut’s School of Drama and Fine Arts in Malappuram and at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, where she earned a BA in Sanskrit Vedanta and a postgraduate qualification in Theatre Arts.
