Early life and background

Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal was born on 27 November 1978 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. She grew up in Jabalpur, attended Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa School from 1984 to 1994 and went on to study at Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya and G. S. College of Commerce & Economics, where she completed a master’s degree. Her early training included a diploma in Kathak and a course in Bundelkhandi folk music. As a teenager she trained in Shito-Ryu karate and later earned a first dan black belt, winning several shields in the martial art.

Jennifer began working in theatre during college and moved into screen roles in the early 2000s. She appeared in small and cameo parts in television series such as Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and had a cameo in CID. Her first film credit listed in public records is Halla Bol (2008), and she has appeared in films including Luck by Chance (2009), Airlift (2016) and Krazzy 4 (2018). She has also worked in short films and in commercials for brands such as Snapdeal, Parle and DBS Bank.
