Kanikka Kapur was born on 4 March 1995 in New Delhi and grew up in the same city. She attended Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. During her teenage years she developed an interest in filmmaking and storytelling, making short films from around the age of 13. She later completed a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Performing arts were part of her formative years: while in college she took part in numerous theatre productions.

Career

Kapur began her public career as a model and pageant contestant. Between 2013 and 2015 she won several campus and regional pageants, including titles such as Miss Mood Indigo (2013), Femina Style Diva North (2014) and Manappuram Miss Queen of India (2015). In 2015 she was crowned Miss Asia at an event held in Kochi, which included a cash prize.

Her on-screen debut came in Telugu cinema in 2017, when she played the lead role of Vaishnavi in the film Tippu. The following year she took part in the television talent hunt India's Next Superstars, marking a move into reality TV. She has appeared in commercial advertising for brands including Rexona and Samsung, and has walked runways at fashion shows as part of her modelling work.
