Malvika Raaj Bagga was born on 18 September 1990 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a family connected to the Hindi film industry, she is the daughter of filmmaker Bobby Raaj and producer Reena Raaj and the granddaughter of actor Jagdish Raj. She attended Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and later completed a B.Com degree.

From a young age Malvika balanced schooling with early screen work. She made her first film appearance at age 11 and, despite receiving more acting offers after that start, her family encouraged her to prioritise education before pursuing a full-time acting career.

Career

Malvika began in films as a child actor, playing the younger version of Kareena Kapoor’s character Pooja in the 2001 hit Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. In her teens she moved into modelling and at 17 started working for brands and on runways, including events in Europe. She also competed in Femina Miss India 2010 and reached the top 18.

Through the 2010s Malvika combined modelling, music videos and selective acting roles. In 2017 she appeared in smaller parts in the films Jayadev and Captain Nawab.
