Sakshi Agarwal was born on 20 July 1990 in Almora, Uttarakhand, and grew up in Chennai after her family relocated there in her childhood. Her father worked in business and her mother was a homemaker. She completed her schooling at Good Shepherd School in Chennai and went on to study at Anna University, where she earned a Bachelor of Information Technology and graduated as a gold medallist. She later completed a Master of Business Administration and pursued additional acting training with a crash course in method acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles.

A former IT professional, Sakshi transitioned from the corporate world into modelling after being noticed by a Bangalore-based fashion designer.
