Sulagna Panigrahi was born on 3 February 1989 in Berhampur, Odisha. She spent her childhood between Odisha and Delhi before moving to Mumbai in 2007 to pursue modelling and acting. Educated to the level of a B.Com, she grew up in a family with a military background: her father, Rashmiranjan Panigrahi, served in the Indian Army and is now retired. Her mother is Maitrayee Panigrahi, and she has a sister, Smrutika Panigrahi, who works as an assistant director in films.

Career

Panigrahi made her television debut in 2007 with the series Amber Dhara, playing the role of Dhara. She established herself on the small screen with roles in shows such as Do Saheliyaan and Bidaai. Transitioning to films, she is widely recognised for her performance as Reshma in the 2011 film Murder 2.

Her filmography spans several languages. Alongside Hindi titles like Murder 2, Guru Dakshina (2015) and Raid (2018), she has taken roles in regional cinema, including the Marathi film Ishq Wala Love (2014) and the Tamil film Isai (2015). On the streaming front, she appeared as Ayesha Mirani in the Amazon Prime Video series Afsos in 2020.
