Between 2 coffee cups, a water bottle, a few devices I’m testing, a tripod, a sunset lamp, my laptop and iPad, and a bunch of charging cables to fuel up all these devices (the coffee and water fuel me, thankfully), my desk is always a mess. Now, most of these I’m fine with. A messy desk is a lived-in desk, whatever.
However, the cables were a different kind of mess. Turns out, all I needed was one gadget to fix it (and it’s now the one thing on this messy desk I’d never replace).
Baseus’s Nomos II solved the only part of my desk I actually hated
The cables had to go
As I mentioned above, cables scattered all over my desk is the one thing that genuinely bothered me. Not only were they visually unappealing and made my desk look significantly messier than it was, but I’d unplug one thing, and two other things would come with it. There would also be times when I wouldn’t have enough cables to power up all my devices at the same time. This meant I’d need to strategically delegate which device gets the charger at what time, which wasn’t always convenient.
Since I use my iPad as a second monitor for my MacBook, those two devices need to be plugged in for most of the day. Add AirPods, headphones, a smartwatch, my sunset lamp, and a review unit or two, and the cables multiply fast. Here’s where the Baseus Nomos II NH21 comes in. It’s available in two variants: a 5-in-1 160W model and a premium 6-in-1 245W model that I’ve been using daily for almost three months now. This desktop charging station comes with two 0.8m braided USB-C retractable cables, and that might be the single most underrated feature I’ve seen on a charging accessory.
A lot of the charging stations I’ve used in the past are just boxes with ports. You still need to bring your own cables, which, well, leads to all of what I described above. With this charging station, all I need to do is pull the cable out, plug it in and charge my device, and let it snap back when I’m done.
Baseus claims that the cables can withstand over 35,000 pulls, and while I can’t attest to that claim just yet, I’ve been pulling these cables out multiple times a day for three months, and they still look brand new. My only small gripe is that you have to grab the cables by their metal USB-C connectors to pull them out, which isn’t ideal.

The Baseus Nomos II NH21 is a 245W 6-in-1 desktop charging station with dual retractable USB-C cables, Qi2 wireless charging, and smart power allocation. It’s designed to charge up to six devices simultaneously while keeping your desk cable-free.
It charges six devices at the same time
No more playing favorites with your charger
The great things I have to say about the Baseus Nomos II don’t end at the retractable cables. The desktop charging station comes with two USB-C ports that support up to 140W each, one USB-A port, and a 15W Qi2 wireless charging pad. All of this is on top of the two retractable cables, meaning you get six charging options in total. I have a wireless charger on my nightstand, and I’d previously need to leave my desk and go all the way to my bedroom just to wirelessly charge my phone. With this device, that problem kind of solved itself!
The whole station has a total output of 245W and something called BPS 3.0, which lets it automatically divide power between whatever’s plugged in. I don’t have to think about which port to use or whether charging my MacBook is going to slow down everything else. It just figures it out, and it even has a three-inch screen on the front that shows you exactly how much power is going to each port in real time. The station also uses a split-chassis design to keep it cool. The power supply lives in a separate external brick, so all the heat stays away from your desk! In my three months of using it, I’ve never seen the station get more than slightly warm.
It’s pricey, but totally worth it
$200 is certainly not a small amount, especially for a desktop charging station. But with everything it offers, I genuinely can’t think of another desk accessory that’s made this much of a difference to my daily setup.
