Mayank Agarwal Hospitalized After Ingesting Unknown Substance on Flight


Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal experienced a shocking mid-flight incident that landed him in the ICU of an Agartala hospital. While details remain unclear, it seems Agarwal consumed an unknown substance from a water bottle on his New Delhi-bound Indigo flight, resulting in throat itching, lip swelling, and potential mouth ulcers.

Thankfully, Agarwal is out of immediate danger and underwent medical treatment. He is expected to be unable to speak for up to two days due to the mouth issues. The mystery surrounding the ingested substance deepens, prompting an investigation.

According to the Karnataka team manager, Agarwal felt an itchy throat shortly after drinking water from a behind-seat bottle, prompting him to rush to the restroom. Unable to find a doctor onboard, the pilot diverted the plane back to Agartala for immediate medical attention.

Indigo confirmed the emergency landing in a statement, assuring that the unwell passenger received prompt medical assistance before the flight resumed its journey.

The incident raises concerns about passenger safety and necessitates a thorough investigation to ascertain the source and nature of the substance consumed by Agarwal. This will not only provide answers but also ensure similar incidents are prevented in the future.
